How to Chill a Wine Fast

Over at Tricks of the Trade, there's a tip for chilling a bottle of wine fast. Anyone that's ever made ice cream the old fashioned way will recognize the trick of adding salt to the water and ice. I wonder just how much quicker this will chill the wine? Anyway, I've personally never tried this for a bottle of wine. I guess I've just never been in that big a hurry. Or if I have, the store I bought the wine from happened to have a chiller.
